Wave forecast in SE Ionian due to IANOS

The significant wave height spatial distribution in the SE Ionian area due to IANOS Medicane is showing in the figure according to high resolution (2Km) POSEIDON WAM model. The maximum values ​​of the significant wave height on the west coast of the Peloponnese are expected between 03:00 - 06:00 UTC on Friday 18.09.20 and will not exceed 4.5 meters, while in the open SE Ionian sea will reach 6 meters. Similar maximum values (4.5m) are expected on the southern coast of Zakynthos between 00:00 UTC and 03:00 UTC on Friday 18.09.20.
